Style Series: Everything I Wore This Week & Weekly Reflection

We're ending the week here in Connecticut with cold, albeit bright, sunshiny weather, which is a stark comparison to how we began the week with rain and unseasonably warm temps. I'm looking forward to today, which is a jam-packed day for me with a mile-long to-do list, but it'll end with happy hour, and I'm really looking forward to that. This weekend I'll be checking in on my mom, who has the flu, poor thing, and I'm planning on getting in the kitchen again to try a new recipe. I have a few to choose from but the top contender is jambalaya. Have a great weekend! xoCandace

PS - Be sure to check in later today for our Off the Mat post!

Monday's Outfit

Monday

It was a sweatshirt and jeans kind of day when I woke up to dreary weather. These Paige jeans are so unbelievably comfortable, and are the absolute perfect length for me, which never happens (#shortgirlproblems). I found them at a thrift store in LA, but here's a darker wash of what might be the same pair on sale. The sweatshirt is by Mother Denim, a brand I've been hearing about for ages but have yet to try out until this sweatshirt. The material is a medium/heavy weight, which makes it ideal for fall/winter, and I love the on-trend lace up front. My only complaint is the sleeves don't really stretch, so it's hard to push the sleeves up your arms if you get warm. I got an XS, but if I were to rebuy (and I would), I'd size up because I'd like a slightly more oversized fit. The cropped version is on sale. I wore an old F21 tank underneath because it was pretty chilly this morning, and added my trusty loafers to finish the look. After not styling my hair with heat all last week (I just didn't have the energy, to be honest), I felt like a whole new woman with some loose curls. I used this curling iron, which I did a little tutorial with here

Tuesday Outfit

Tuesday

I always forget about these joggers I got at Urban Outfitters. I bought them to wear on my book tour in 2016 and have worn them maybe one time since (this past Christmas Eve with heels and a silky tank and long velvet duster). They're sort of a thicker, silky material, and I only discovered on Tuesday that when paired with a draped top and some espadrilles they can be dressed down but you still feel put together. I got the top at Urban Outfitters as well (found the brown version on sale, ugh and how goos is this similar super cozy waffle knit version?!). The shoes are thrifted Chanel. The necklace is from Rocksbox, and you can use code yogabycandacexoxo for your first free box! Shop the look below.

Wednesday Outfit

Wednesday

While I'm trying to pull away from always picking leggings to wear, they were just calling my name this morning. They're an eggplant color from Lululemon (Zella makes an identical version), and I wore them with an old H&M chambray (pretty much the only thing I've ever found from H&M that I love and that fits. I swear, that store and Zara! I will love everything and spend two hours gathering stuff to try on and literally nothing ever fits right. Womp). Anyway, Madewell has one on sale, if you're on the hunt for a good boyfriend chambray. on top I wore an old sweater from Wellicious they sent me back in 2015 (and omg, they still make it!). Sneaks are light pink K-Swiss (currently on super sale!) and the hat is a light pink suede hat a friend gave me last Christmas (here's an identical one for under $30).

Thursday Outfit

Thursday

Initially I woke up and put on all black but it was a little too much doom and gloom, even for me, who loves all black everythang! I needed to lighten it up a bit, so I swapped out the black sweater I had on for a light blue t-shirt and this paper thin Joah Brown duster I've had forever. I can't find this duster online, but here's a similar one for $10. I have this unique "problem" where it might be 12 degrees outside, but in my place it'll be pushing 80, thanks to the huge windows. I'm not complaining, I live for natural light, but just trying to explain why I have summer tops on in the middle of winter. The jeans are old Joe's that I've had since college and they've got that super low waistband to prove it ¯\_(ツ)_/¯  and the chelsea boots are by my fav budget-friendly shoe brand Dolce Vita. Their stuff isn't uber cheap, but not a bad price point, especially given the quality. The hat was a recent sale find. I gave the hat look a try a few weeks ago for the first time and I am completely hooked. It comes in especially handy when your grays are comin' through! The exact style is sold out now, but here's another one also on sale and I'll link a few similar styles at lower price points below just in case you wanna give the style a try but don't wanna spend too much doing so.

Friday Outfit

Friday

I found this old zara top at the bottom of my dresser - I think it might be the only zara thing I own because nothing ever fits me quite right in that store. Even this top fits a little weird, I sort of think the sleeves shouldn't be as loose but what do I know? It's a 3/4 sleeve top with faux leather sleeves and little pocket. I paired it with a pair of grey jeans, and these report boots that have silver buckles down the sides, kind of like this, only, you know, not Zanotti. These boots are so comfortable, I could run a marathon in them.
