It's been a while since I've done a round up for On the Mat / Off the Mat. This is one of my favorite series because I like to follow the activewear trends. The round up usually leaves me wanting to try a new brand, like those mesh insert leggings below by Michi...and of course there's always a good laugh involved (like what in the world are these?!) Anything you've got your eye on these days?

I'm bringing it back to basics with this pose because we see it so often in yoga class and it's good to have a refresher. Basically the key with this pose is setting the foundation right. Be sure the front foot heel is in line with the back foot ankle. It feels a little awkward, but it gives a nice stretch in the back hip flexer and along the back calf. The other major key point is making sure the front knee doesn't go over the ankle to ensure the safety of your knee joint.

Years ago in college, Thursday was better known as Thirsty Thursday, when we'd all head to the local watering hole where the drinks were cheap and the music was loud. Well, times have a-changed, and last Thursday found me sitting in my favorite pink pajamas at 10pm, whipping some gooey gelatin mixture (by hand, I might add) with a weird egg spatula because it was the closest thing I could find in our rental to a whisk. My arm just about fell off, but other than that, these came out incredible! I likely won't be making them often just due to the fact that they're nearly all honey, but they make for a quick snack after workouts and a good dessert.

If you've been reading along for a while, you might remember that I've switched up my workout routine this summer. It's going pretty well, but yoga will always be my favorite because you can truly do yoga anywhere, and in my opinion, nothing targets the body and mind quite like yoga.

It's Monday, and this week I've got a really great giveaway lined up for later on today, but before we get to that, I wanted to share some highlights from my weekend. Nothing too major happened, still waiting to spot my favorite celeb (Denzel, and I'm 99.9% sure he's in NYC doing a play), but it was a great weekend regardless.
