Early this fall, when I signed the book deal, I felt I was in decent shape, but with the photoshoot for the book scheduled for the winter, I wanted to be in great shape. I wanted to build upper body strength to help support my handstands and arm balances, and I wanted to lean out just a little bit. My journey has only been from the middle of October to now - the middle of January, so under three months, but I've been able to meet my goals and what I learned along the way was surprising and left me feeling the absolute best I've ever felt. I'm in the best shape of my life, and - most importantly - feel the best I've ever felt in terms of energy, strength and stress levels.

Whew! I just got home from Vegas last night and I am deliriously tired, hangry (what else is new) and feel so behind on work and life in general. I'll be running around doing errands and taking care of important matters like the fact that I have zero food in the house...and then I'll probably crash and burn around 2pm. Yoga Teacher Talk is a series on YBC for current, new or prospective yoga teachers. We also have an entire section on our Yoga Forum for teacher talk and we'd love to chat you up there!
A lot of weird things have happened to me while teaching. Once, I went through the entire class only to come down to the seated sequence and notice that my pants were on inside out. Another time, I had paused my music so I could demo something very important (I am so one of those people who turns down the music in order to better focus on where I'm going when I'm driving, haha) and when I pressed play again, it somehow changed my ambient beat music to blasting Puff Daddy circa 2006. In the middle of Morocco, by the way.
